Whew, I have been busy. Lots of sewing, lots of school projects and lots of snow. I hate snow. I guess I wouldn't mind snow if it came down 2 inches at a time. But 9 inches at one time just gets on my nerves. When there is a foot of snow on the back deck I can't get out to take pictures!
Anyway, I have been quite busy down in the sewing room. I need to stop and trace patterns for stash game next month and save all the projects I want to complete for a few more days!
Do you know a little girl who rules? Well then skip on over to the etsy shop and buy her this adorable upcycled t- shirt. Wink wink.
Pattern: Farbenmix Imke (love it) in size 4/5.
Or how about this adorable upcycled dress? Made from an Old Navy tee, All you need is love... Also in a size 4.
Or how about a nature lover. Do you know a little girl who loves to be outside surrounded by nature? This shirt is also a size 4/5 in my ever popular Farbenmix Antonia pattern. (this shirt hasn't made it up on etsy yet, because of all the snow outside I haven't had a chance to take proper pictures yet)
Do you remember Baby Avie, my little niece who is a teeny tiny version of my sister? Well I decided she needed a new pink fur shrug. Because really, what's not to love about a teeny pink fur shrug?
Pattern: Ottobre Design 1/2007 in size 80. About 12 months ish. Avie is a tiny thing.
And modeled by Bear. When it can fit on a stuffed animal you know it's tiny!
And finally, cute pink baby stuff! I had an itchin to make pink baby stuff the other day. And no, I am not pregnant. I don't know why people keep asking me that. So I only know one person who is pregnant with a baby girl so she gets everything.
All patterns are size 62 (3 mo. ish) and are from the new Ottobre, 1/2011.
#4
#9- leggings with cute little gathers on the sides.
#8- the cutest little velour jumper! Holy cow, these kind of things are what makes me consider having another baby.
back
All put together
And just in case you didn't believe me about all the snow on the back deck

Birthday presents for Addi
I spent last weekend sewing up birthday presents for Addi. I let each girl pick an outfit from my stack of Ottobre magazines. Both just happened to pick these super fussy, detailed outfits and I immediately regretted my decision to let them choose.
KK picked a skirt and shirt from Ottobre 1/2007. #15 and #16. Both are in size 104, with added length to the shirt. They are very cute but the shirt alone has 17 rows of shirring at the waist! I don't mind shirring, it's easy, just takes awhile.
Look at all those rows!
The skirt has these cute pockets on the front and ruffles on the bum. The ruffles are certainly adorable and perfect for girly girls. The pockets on the front have these flaps but they didn't have anyway to stay closed. And as you may be aware I am kind of a crazy ironing person. I iron just about everything. And the thought of those pocket flaps sticking up after the first wash just about drove me crazy! And no offense Trish, I mean I love ya and all, but I knew you wouldn't iron them down and it would bother me. So I added snaps to the pockets to keep them from driving me insane. Hey, at least I admit I have a problem.

The skirt also called for a drawstring waist to tie at the side. Screw that, I put in a pretty pink zipper.
Now, Nin had the best of intentions picking out this pretty, fluffy, twirly dress. But it turned into an issue. So much so, that I had to let Nin pick a dress out of my selling stock to give to Addi. The dress was made in Addi's size, 104 and it was sooooo big, it fit my 9 year old. It was beyond ridiculous. Way too wide, too long and too big of neck. It is very pretty and has lots of great details, but the pattern in this size was poorly drafted. Perhaps, in the bigger sizes it would be more true to size. Who knows. But it currently hangs on my garment rack while I try to figure out what to do with it.
Pattern: Ottobre Design mag 3/2008 #25
Look at those cute little ties on the back!
Can you see how big this neck is?
3 1/4 in. could be taken out to fit my 9 year old.
Usually, Ottobre is right on point with their sizes, so I was a little disappointed with this one.

January challenge
On the Sewing Mamas forum they are running a year's worth of challenges. Every month is a new challenge to help inspire and challenge folks. The January challenge was to make some for yourself. About 95% of the things I sew are for kids and I hardly ever get around to making something for myself. So this worked out to be a perfect challenge for me! Since I am enamored with the Mamu Deborah pattern I made two of them this weekend. Both out of super soft velour.
What do you think, a bit too tie-dye? A little too 70's?
Can you see the hood back there? (PS. I did not got to school for modeling)
This one is a bit more plain. No hood and just a plain color..
Photography credit goes to my 9 year old.
Aside from the challenge, I was supposed to be making birthday presents for Addi Bo. You know me, I get easily distracted by shiny things, well I got distracted. I saw these cute pants the other day and just had to make them at that moment. And then I had to make a hoodie for TheoLeo at that moment. So I am still working on the presents!
These have to be the cutest pants I have ever seen for little boys. Double topstitching is done in lime green and gray. Pants for baby Theo from Ottobre Design 4/2007 #12 in size 86.
Bottom leg panels
How cute are these pockets?!
Then I decided he Theo needed a new hoodie. So I tried out the holey hoodie which is paired with the above pants in the magazine. I have been wanting to make this hoodie but soon realized that the holes on the front are too fiddly and I don't like fiddly.

Hopefully I will get to the birthday presents tonight since we need them for this weekend...

Valentine Shirts for sale!
Last night I finished up some Valentine shirts to sell in my etsy shop. I figured I would branch out from purses to include some shirts since I have so much fun making them! I could seriously stay home and paint t shirts all day long!
Here are the 6 I started with in size order..
Size 2/3
sleeve edging
back
also a size 2/3 but about an inch longer and can be worn with leggings.
back
size 4/5
back
sleeve edging..
this is my fave.... In size 4/5
back (kind of a slanty picture.. it was so windy this morning!)
size 6/7
kind of hard to see all the sparkles!
back
and finally the largest size. I had intended this to be a 8/9, but it's more like a 6/7 also since the main red fabric doesn't have a lot of stretch to it.
back (it's not really that narrow, just the darn wind this morning!)
If you would like to purchase one just head on over to my etsy shop. They should all be posted by tomorrow.
