Garden Tour

The garden has ramped up production over the last two weeks and we are consistently picking veggies every night.

Cucumber is growing out of his space

Hello honeybees, thank you for all your hard work. Maybe next time though, you could pollinate the watermelon instead of the zuchini. Zuchini is plentiful right now. Thanks.

jungle of tomatoes, 6 plants here including 4 hybrids, 1 heirloom and 1 volunteer from last year that I have no idea what it is. I have one more plant that is across the yard currently being swallowed by the cucumber plant.

canteloupe that is growing like crazy. It is taking over the whole garden. (zuchini in the background)

I have a feeling the shrew is back and likes my watermelon

I picked this all last night. The watermelon was probably not ready to be picked, but something or someone (I am talking to you Nin) chewed through the vine and this beauty was left on the ground. I also picked 2 cucumbers and 3 jalepenos that didn't make the picture.

What a great mail day!

I came home from work and the mailbox was so full, a package was hanging halfway out! The whole mailbox was stuffed full and Nin told me that our mailman must have really long arms in order to get the mail clear in the back!

Peace signs are all the rage in elementary school so the girls were very happy to see all the fabric in mail. The black and brown sweatshirt material will be hoodies for the girls this fall and KK wants a long sleeve shirt for her and her cousin out of the other peace sign fabric.

July 4th!

I know these dresses are a little late, but the girls love them! KK saw this peace sign flag fabric at JoAnn's and just had to have it for the girls' annual July 4th dresses. Since Nin's birthday is July 5th and Grandma Marcia takes them to the Collin's Park parade every year, I make them a fun dress to wear.

Pattern:
Olabelhe's Amelia dress (without the bubble hem)
Since I am raising Amazon children and Olabelhe's patterns tend to run small I made the largest size and added width in the chest and lots of length.

Nin just had to have her Zhu Zhu pet in the picture.....

Birthday present

My niece turned one year old recently so I made her some new clothes. Nin picked out this Heidi Grace fabric out of my stash and this dress pattern. It is very cute. And very tiny!

Pattern:
Ottobre Design mag 3/2006
#2 in size 74, which is about a size 12 month

Summer clothes

KK needed some new summer clothes and as soon as the new Otto magazine came I knew I wanted to make her this outfit. The aqua shorts are made from linen a friend (thanks Jennifer!) picked up at a thrift store and the tunic fabric was found in the JoAnn's clearance section. She loves the outfit and so do I! I promise the color of the linen matches the other fabrics better in real life.

Pattern:
Ottobre Design mag 3/2010
shorts- #29 size 128
tshirt- #31 size 128 with added length
tunic- #30 size 128

The shorts have a paper bag style waist. I love the way they look but I had to throw the instructions out the window and figure it out on my own because they were less than clear.
